My Dream Home
The response was fantastic and assured us that the future creativity of Oxfordshire is certainly in good hands. A gallery of selected artworks was on display in the windows of Finders Keepers, 226 Banbury Road, Oxford in the weeks running up to the prize-giving event on Friday 2nd December. The judge of the competition was Will Gompertz, BBC Arts Editor, who was really impressed with submitted entries. Our guests (the children and their parents or teachers) arrived and warmed themselves with drinks and gingerbread men just as the judge was making his final decisions for the top three prizes in the two categories (9-11 years old and 8 and under). The runners up were announced and they received their prizes (see photo above), and then the winners (some were pictures and some were poems) were announced: Under 8 years old 1st Eden Shepherd, Deddington Primary School 2nd Tia Claridge, Madley Brook School 3rd Liam Dalziel, Beckley Primary School
1st Isobel Passey, Beckley Primary School 2nd Chloe Daniels, Wootton St Peters School 3rd Elizabeth Ruddell, Charlton Primary School
The winners of each category were awarded £300 for their school as well as £50 for themselves. There were also prizes for 2nd and 3rd in each category.
