We are very happy to announce that our Charity of 2011 is Oxfordshire Air Ambulance, as voted for by Finders Keepers staff. The helicopter is operated in daylight hours, seven days per week, 365 days per year. It carries a full range of life saving medical equipment and two fully qualified paramedics (provided by South Central Ambulance Service), and the pilot is provided by Bond Air Services. The Trust is an independent charitable trust, receiving no funding from central Government or the National Lottery. Everything they need to meet their annual running costs of £2.8m comes from the public in the form of donations, fundraising, legacies and sponsorship. We are really pleased to be working with this local charity and are looking forward to volunteering and fundraising throughout 2011. |
